In a major crackdown on illegal foreign nationals, the Sola High Court Police in Ahmedabad detained 17 Bangladeshi citizens found living without valid documents in residential areas under its jurisdiction. The detainees have been handed over to the Joint Interrogation Centre (JIC) in Sardarnagar for verification and deportation proceedings.
According to police officials, the action followed directives from Ahmedabad Police Commissioner G S Malik and Joint Commissioner of Police (Sector 1) Neerajkumar Badgujar, who had instructed all city police zones to identify and take action against foreign nationals residing illegally in India.
